Hi, I’m SJ — Your Friendly Neighborhood PA

I’m a board-certified Physician Assistant, former ER girlie turned Urgent Care provider. In clinic, I see a little bit of everything every day. I started This Feels Urgent because I kept hearing the same questions — in the exam room, over text, in group chats:

“Do I actually need to go in for this?”
“Which meds actually help?”
“Is it weird if ___?”

This blog is my answer to all of it. I’m here to help you stop spiraling through 14 tabs of WebMD and start feeling more calm, clear, and actually informed about your health — even the uncomfy parts.

You won’t find fear-mongering here — just real talk, science, and the kind of energy you need when your body’s doing something weird. You also won’t find essential oil cures, detox teas, or “cortisol face” fixes. This is a space for education, empowerment, and a little bit of calm when the internet has you spiraling.

When I’m not seeing patients or explaining the difference between Tylenol and Advil for the hundredth time (love you though), you can find me hanging out with my dog, dancing around my kitchen, or doomscrolling while pretending I’m going to bed early. It’s about balance.

Thanks for being here — let’s make healthcare less urgent and more doable ✨
